When it Rains.It Pours [Openess] « Thread Started on Jul 16, 2007, 3:13pm »
Sitting alone on a bench outside in the courtyard was Tyler Allen. He sat leaning forwards, his elbows resting on his knees, humming a tune. A tune that sounded something like Fall out boy - dance, dance. A light breeze lifted the boys hair and his long fringe blew out of his electric blue eyes. He looked up at the sky. It was pretty dismal. You wouldn't think it was three in the afternoon.
The sky was dark and covered in dark grey clouds that looked as though the vapour inside was going to explode out in some kind of precipitation in any moment. And just as he thought about rain, he felt a droplet land on his nose. He liked rain but didn't quite no if he wanted to get caught out in it today. He didn't move from the bench however, the rain was still deciding whether it was going to fall. Every few seconds a single drop would fall from the sky but it never came down too fast.

It was a rain day, Toby knew from the second he woke up and looked outside at the dreary weather. He rather liked the rain, loved watching it pool on the cement outside his window, watching the drops colide and make the puddles ripple. Toby stretched his long arms and legs, getting up from his bed and getting some cereal from his kitchen, still dressed in his pajamas pants, not bothering to change just yet.
Minutes later, after having eaten and gotten dressed in one of his favourite black hoodies and a pair of dark blue jeans, he combed his hair with his hand, not really caring about it much, it always looked alright, and he liked the messy look. Toby bent down to pet his black cat, Quackers, and then left the house, deciding to go for a walk.
Toby's walk led him up to courtyard, in which the rain finally started to come down, although very slowly. He was walking with his head up, watching the dark sky and clouds slowly move and change shapes. Upon looking down, Toby's face broke out into a grin, his chocolate coloured eyes spotting one of his best friends. "Hey Ty!" He called out, picking up his pace to go sit next to the boy on the bench.

Tyler looked up at the sound of a voice to see it was his best friend, Toby. he stopped humming and A smile cracked upon his face as he sat up straight and looked at his friend. "How's it going Toby?" He asked, stretching his arms skywards so that his left elbow cracked. "Didn't think anyone would be outside seeing as it's going to piss it down any second."
His eyes reached the sky again the rain still undeciding when it was going to unlesh itself on the two boys. Another breeze blew by, maybe it was going to pass over. Whatever, Tyler didn't really mind if it chucked it down or not, he liked the rain, it cleansed everything and made it fresh.
He pulled down the sleeves on his black long sleeved t shirt which was emblazed with an atticus logo on the front and back. He fiddled with a hole on his right sleeve, waiting for Toby to answer. He looked up at him again, leaving his hole before it crept its way slowly up the whole of Tyler's sleeve. "Your hairs a mess." He smirked, stating the obvious.

Toby shrugged his shoulders, "It's going. Been doing the same old, nothing too exciting." He said in response, leaning back on the bench, his long legs stretching in front of him. "I love the rain, plus I've got nothing better to do than be outside." He said, following Tyler's gaze to the sky, looking for the rain that was barely dropping from the dark clouds.
Hearing Tylers remark about his hair, he couldn't help but reach his hand up and run it through his black, long hair again, tousling it. Maybe it would fall into place, although it was more than likely to not. "Meh, you're just used to your perfected hair." He said, grinning, "you perfectionist." Toby knew Tyler wasn't really a perfectionist, but whatever.

As soon as Toby spoke the heavens seemed to open a little more and a rumble of Thunder could be heard in the distance. "Looks like there's a storm coming."
Tyler smiled, thunderstorms were the best. Tyler liked thunderstorms because even though he wasn't scared of them, they seemed to make his heart beat faster and his adrenaline pump, more if he was outside in one. Maybe it was because there was a small chance of being struck by lightning, or a tree falling on top of you.
"Tis not perfected." Though it did look it, Tyler didn't make it sit perfectly straight on his head it just seemed to fall naturally that way, which didn't bother him too much but sometimes he wouldn't mind having the 'messy' look. His shook his head violently but his hair, once he'd stopped shaking his head just fell back, though he could feel that one side had gone static. "Now look what you did!" He put his right hand up to the side of his head and his hair attracted towards his hand.
But it wasn't for long as the rain came down, his hair was flat and wet in no time. He stared up at the sky once more, closing his eyes as he felt the droplets hit them. "We're gonna get soaked." Tyler announced, quite obviously.

The rain...it seemed like it was never going to seize to amaze everyone. What was the big deal? She saw nothing that was great about the rain. Messed up your hair and then again...kissing in the rain seemed to be pretty important. She pushed the thought from her mind as she walked silently through the now dampening courtyard, wanting to reach the door into the school. First day away from Missouri...oh California, the irony. Two boys caught her eye, they seemed to be nice-looking, but everyone in California seemed to be either stuck up or some kind of pervert. She tossed her multi-coloured locks from her light brown eyes and sighed, slowing her walk.
This was Phoenix, the new girl here. She was pretty much non conforming. She was attractive but didn't want to blend in with all the preps so she made herself stand out as much as possible...

Toby laughed, rolling his eyes slightly It was so perfected, at least it was in his opinon, much more perfected than Toby's own hair, that was for sure. "Well sorry, plus, it was all your fault. You should use better shampoo, gets rid of static." Toby said, although what did he know about shampoo, by the look of his head today, it didn't look like he knew what the stuff was, but that was only today, he could clean up pretty nicely if he wanted to.
Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a girl with multi-coloured hair, who looked a little bit off, like she didnt quite know where she was or something. Most likely, she was a new girl. Smiling, he noticed she slowed her walk, hoping to catch her attention, he waved at her, just slight wave of the hand, nothing too much. She seemed to be looking sort of in their direction, so maybe she would notice. She was very pretty, Toby had to admit, and he couldn't help but think that maybe they could get to know each other. Toby was like that with everyone, he didn't really think he had one enemy in this entire school. Probably had people who didn't like him, but he seemed to like everyone enough.
"No, really?" Toby told Tyler, rolling his eyes as he glanced up at the sky again, just in time for a big drop to hit his eye. He reached his hand up to rub his eye, sighing slightly. "Don't matter to me though." He said, perfectly content on getting soaked.

She jumped slightly as a raindrop landed on her smoothe cheek, sending cold shivers up her spine. She turned her skull lightly to see the boy wave at her. She waved back slightly. He was pretty good-looking but she couldn't let her mind skip to far ahead of this meeting. She walked a few feet to the door and jiggled the handle with her slender hands, but it was locked. sh!t! She mumbled. She leaned up against the wall, breathing in deeply. This was turning into a horrid day...the rain was doing much for her hair either. The girl was obsessed with her locks, her hair always had to be PERFECT.
She looked over at the boys again, sighing. She didn't know what else would happen today. She blinked, looking through the visible humidity towards the other side of the courtyard...utter lonlieness.
Phoenix. So now you love these screams..what's left of me.

Tyler rolled his eyes. "Like you know anything about shampoo." He joked. "But I'll look out for it next time I'm in town."
He shrugged, getting soaked sounded like fun to Tyler to. He could change his clothes when he got back inside and his hair would dry soon enough, though it would probably flick out in places. The only time Tyler's hair wasn't straight was when he let it dry out after rain. Which was weird.
He too noticed the girl, firstly he noticed she was a girl, secondly he noticed her hair and thirdly he noticed that she didn't look to keen on getting soaked. He smiled at her and called, "Nice hair!" and indicated that she should join them if she liked, or she could walk on by, either way.

Phoenix looked up, her eyes glittering in the dim light of the afternoon. She stood as she watched his indication. Her slender legs, covered in tight skinny leg jeans carried her skinny carcass over to them, sitting on a bench across from them. I don't mean to interupt...but I could really use some help getting around today. I'm new. I'm Phoenix. She told them, always glancing up at their hair. She loved hair and everything about it.
When she'd first walked through the doors of this school, she'd noticed a lot of different groups of people...of course there was the preps or sleepers...then the nerds...who usually made her laugh with stupid jokes that weren't really funny, just interesting to hear. Then there was the grunge. The people who were non-conformists, the perfect group she could easily fit it. For the first time since she'd moved into this bumfxck place, a small smile came over her face. Maybe she could actually make some friends that weren't to good for her.

Toby watched Ty motion to the girl, calling out about her hair. He was slightly jealous of the girl. She had strands of pink hair, if Toby were to dye is hair pink, he bet many of his friends would bug him about being gay, and say 'what kind of guy would even want to dye their hair pink'. Well, he didn't really want to, but it would be interesting enough, wouldn't it? His friends had bugged him enough when he had bleached his hair blonde. although he had to admit he looked somewhat like a hyper active squirrel.
Smiling, Toby looked the girl up and down. Not in the 'checking out way' but just to see her over all appearance, maybe get a bit of her personality from what she looked like. He wasn't one to stick with first impressions, but it was always nice to know what you were getting yourself into. You wouldn't walk around town with a guy holding a knife that had blood on it, would you? Most likely not.
"Well, Ms. New, I'm Toby. It's a pleasure." He said, introducing himself. "Area's not too exciting, especially the school, but I'd be more than happy to escort a pretty girl like you around." Toby said, slightly flirting with Phoenix and wiggled his eyebrows a little, a small laugh emitting from his vocals.

Phoenix liked it that these boys were so nice to her. She hadn't really had any nice comments...more like 'freak' or 'goth'. Hehe, Goth? How funny. Yes, very funny. She raised her brows as the boy told her he'd escort her around the campus. Phoenix was kind of a nerd, but in a good way. She liked to get stuff done, like homework...strait A's to be honest. though, she loved music more than ANYTHING. She played guitar, bass guitar, the drums and she also could sing extremely well. Her tongue toyed with her bottom lip piercing as she thought for a moment. Thanks Toby. She said sweetly.

He was glad that phoenix decided to come over, it was bound to get interesting with a girl around, especially as this girl seemed to have interested Toby a bit.
He shook his head at his friend. He was a little tactless and he had to stop himself from murmuring that showing her around the school was hardly the most romantic thing in the world. The only things stopping him was that the girl in question was sitting in front of him and that Tyler himself, wouldn't have come up with anything better.
"Interesting name." Tyler said, his eyes scanning the girl. He was glad that the school had not wasted a place on some prep or jock and on someone that seemed to fit in more with Toby and Tyler's cliques.
"So what brings you here?" He asked, indicating to the school.

Phoenix listened to Tyler's question. I came here from Ohio with my brother, Randy. She said, basically outlining the real, on-going plot. She glanced at both of them...she felt like she was imposing...kind of interupting. I apologize if I was imposing on a conversation... She said softly, her voice calm and collected. She really had to believe that these people had to be different from all the others...more friendlier and easy-going, not trying to fit it with everybody else.
